ESMA makes available ISINs before second publication of annual transparency calculations
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, today publishes the list of instruments (ISINs) that will complement the results of the annual transparency calculations for equity and equity-like instruments on 8 April 2022.
This list includes 1,162 ISINs (1,158 shares and 4 ETFs), roughly 1000 more ISINs than expected. The increased the scope of ESMA’s publication was possible thanks to the resolution of technical issues related to the implementation of the ESAs review requirements of trading venues to directly provide to ESMA the data by the Polish trading venues.
The list includes:
- 4 shares designated as liquid as foreseen in accordance with Article 1(6) of Delegated Regulation 2017/567 by the Slovenian authority;
- results for 825 shares and 4 ETFs reported by Polish trading venues; and
- results for 329 shares that were not published on 1 March and new results for certain ISINs that were already included in the publication from March. Consequently, for the latter, the results published on 1 March will no longer be applicable from 14 April 2022.
Due to the increase of the number of instruments that will be published, ESMA considered it appropriate to provide market participants with more time between the publication and application dates and requires the application of the results no later than 14 April instead of 11 April as initially communicated.
